The Amsterdam based creative agency Brilliant after Breakfast launches the virtual exhibition ‘Paint Job’ in which the renowned Rijksmuseum gets hijacked. Visitors will be able to scan paintings with their smart phones using the Layar Reality Browser app. As a result a virtual layer appears on top of the physical painting. Experiencing art in a new way The increased digitalisation of creativity offers possibilities for the art world and the way art is perceived. We like to raise questions and ‘Paint Job’ is the first step towards answering these questions. How can we bridge the gap between ancient works of art and modern day society? How can we make historical works relevant in the current context? What is copyright in 2012 and what about remix-creativity? What is the relation between public and institute in the light of increased digital creativity?
