The Ultimate Home Makeover
Philadelphia based production company, Klip Collective was hired by Fallon (http://www.fallon.com/) to create a TV spot for Charter Communications (http://www.charter.com/) using video mapping technology. The project began with a rigorous location scout to find a suburban home that had projection-friendly architecture, a nondescript landscape, and of course, a Charter Communications subscription. Within one week, the house was secured and 3D animation of the facade began. Over the next two weeks, Klip's team filmed pouring water in their studio, animators perfected the "color of ice", and producers prepared the site for an overnight video shoot. Check out the behind the scenes video for more insight into the Klip video mapping process. Then, in early December, a crew armed with a 20,000 lumen projector, a heated RV and a Mac-powered editing suite headed towards the Mojave Desert in California. Shot in one night, the "Ultimate Home Makeover" spot documents a typical suburban house filling to capacity with water, transforming into a flower bed, folding into itself and back again - representing the alterations, renovations, and weather conditions a house might withstand over a lifetime. The spot illustrates the reliability of Charter Communications (TV/Internet/Phone provider) through all these transformations.
