David and Courteney Get Freaky for OPCC
Sojourn Services For Battered Women And Their Children, the domestic violence project of Los Angeles-based social services agency, OPCC today unveiled an online awareness campaign aimed at bringing attention to the issue of domestic violence in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness month. Titled 'That's Just Wrong' the online film starring David Arquette and Courteney Cox uses comedy as a way to engage the public and get them talking about a very serious issue. 'Domestic Violence is an issue that both Courteney and I are extremely passionate about bringing awareness to. Of course the first part of the video we made for this campaign is ridiculous. But we felt it was important to create something that people would laugh at, and pass on to their friends and open the door to a discussion about domestic violence,' said Arquette. 'Domestic Violence is not a comfortable subject, but by using the power of social media we feel we can invite people to get involved with OPCC and the cause. If we can get people to start talking about domestic violence, the issue will become less foreign and taboo. Which means more victims will feel comfortable speaking up '" and more people might be in a position to recognize the warning signs and guide victims to resources such as OPCC to break the cycle of domestic violence,' said John Maceri, Executive Director, OPPC. 'That's Just Wrong' is an online effort that launches today on Funny or Die http://FunnyOrDie.com/m/4orc and OPPC's facebook page http://bit.ly/cqO2pu. The 'That's Just Wrong' effort was conceived and developed by Patrick O'Neill, David Arquette and Courteney Cox on behalf of OPCC. Patrick O'Neill is the Executive Creative Director at TBWA\CHIAT\DAY\Los Angeles, a leading national advertising agency. 'We created a comedic, furry sex tape that will make you laugh, think and more importantly remember OPCC's domestic violence message. This opens the door for more more awareness, which equals more donations, and that's great for the cause,' said O'Neill.
